IPAD 2

Apple is about to take over the year again with the IPAD 2. The original IPAD was a huge phenomenon last year that had people is shock, just image what the second version will do.

The IPAD2 will be in two different sizes a 7inch and a 9.7-inch version. Some people felt that the IPAD is too big, so now buyers will have their choice of the size of their IPAD. Another feature is the 3 Axis Gyro which will be better for playing games for all the gamers who play tons of games on the IPAD. Video Calling will also be on the new and improved IPAD 2 just like on the new IPHONE 4. Facetime and front/back cameras with better resolution will be added. IPAD 2 will also have a new Retina display, which will improve the screen display similar to the IPHONE4. The IPAD2 two will have a USB connecter for transferring files and media. The IPAD2 will be thinner, lighter, and will have a faster processor and more storage room so that one can save more files such as books and pictures.

I'm excited about the IPAD2. At first I did not care about having an IPAD, but now that it is said to have all these new features on it I might have to buy one. I'm glad that they will have it in two different sizes because I did feel that the original IPAD was kind of big. I feel that people will buy the IPAD2 because some people knew that Apple was going to add all these simple features like USB cord, more storage space and better screen on the second version.

3D Texting

Texting is already a phenomenon that everybody does. People text at work, during school, driving, in the bathroom, and while crossing the street. We as a society have all adapted our fingers in to doing all the talking. TV has recently gone to 3D, but what about texting?

According to the article LG Smartphone Optimus 3D will be the phone that uses the same method that is used to create the 3D text. This will be an effect called “switchable barrier.” This is similar to what Nintendo’s 3DS can do and it does not require the reader to wear glasses. “LG showed the Optimus 3D, this week at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. The company didn't provide a release date or price, though spokespeople have said it will be affordable.” With many 3D TV’s in the market now the Optiums LG 3D Smartphone can be hooked up to 3D TV sets and display all media such as pictures and audio.

The world continues to amaze me. But I am concern about 3D texting. Texting itself is becoming a problem that has cost people’s lives. I am a text freak but I cannot image reading 3D text messages. How will people react to 3D Texting or will this be just another cool phase that will soon blow away? Check out the article. http://www.cnn.com/2011/TECH/mobile/02/15/lg.optimus.3d/index.html

Elementary School Teacher

Dion Johnson is a 1st grade teacher at Weeden Elementary School in Florence Alabama. She enjoys teaching her students reading. I wanted to interview her because technology has changed many ways that children learn and comprehend and I wanted her opinion. Mrs. Johnson says that she loves how technology has helped students learn, but it should not take the place of parents doing their part in reading and helping the children with their homework daily.
